EVLT Facts, Los Angeles EVLT Specialist, Varicose Veins LA

What is EVLT?
The EVLT procedure is an innovative varicose vein treatment for bulging varicose veins, venous insufficiency, and venous reflux.  EVLT stands for endovenous laser treatment and uses high energy laser to successfully collapse unhealthy veins that cause varicose veins and spider veins.  If you have questions about EVLT procedure, or the radiofrequency venous procedure.

Does the EVLT procedure need hospital admission?
The endovenous laser procedure known as EVLT and the radiofrequency vein procedure known as Venefit is performed strictly as an outpatient procedure for bulging varicose veins, venous insufficiency, and venous reflux.  Our state of the art varicose vein clinic in the Buffalo Niagara area provides treatment for bulging varicose veins as an noninvasive and minimally invasive procedure.  Hospitalization is not only required as opposed to old fashioned vein stripping and vein surgery.

How long does EVLT take to perform?
The EVLT procedures and the Venefit procedures are major advancements as compared to vein stripping and old fashioned vein surgery.  If you have bulging varicose veins, visit a vein specialist in the Los Angeles area.  Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is one of the leading experts in the treatment of unhealthy varicose veins and bulging varicose veins.  If you have only a spider vein issue, our experts can diagnose your veins and determine whether you are a candidate for sclerotherapy, laser treatment of spider veins and ultrasound guided sclerotherapy.

Do I need sedation for the EVLT procedure?
The EVLT procedure is performed under local anesthesia and using one of the leading laser based endovenous treatment for varicose veins and venous reflux.  The procedure is performed while the patient is awake and uses a small amount of local anesthetic known as Xylocaine.  If you have a family history of varicose veins and had a parent of grandparent who has undergone vein stripping, the EVLT procedure is radically different from old fashioned surgery.  The newer vein procedure such as EVLT and Venefit required minimal anesthetic and has very little discomfort during the procedure.  If you are concerned about pain or discomfort during the EVLT procedure, our office can coordinate and make special arrangements to alleviate your discomfort during your procedure.

Do you perform second opinions and offer secondary consults for varicose veins?
